Description: Spent the day at the Getty Museum. Admission is free but there is a charge to park. The views are spectacular and it is a great place to pass a Saturday. I would recommend staying during the free concerts at night.

Description: Sculpture Garden outside of New York City. Great for a bike ride around the sculptures or a picnic. It is accessible by car or a 1 hour bus from Manhattan Port Authority. The land is 300 contiguous acres and founded over 50 years ago.
Activity: Telluride Blues and Brews Annual Festival

Description: The location was gorgeous. The food was delicious. The weather was great in the day, but it did get very cold at night. The music was wonderful to enjoy and there were options for all ages. The ticket included a beer tasting day while listening to the opening bands. There is the option to stay locally or camp outdoors. I would highly recommend this festival, but be warned that it is not easily accessible. Flight to Denver than 6+ hour car journey was the most economical way to get to Telluride.

Description: There are a few hikes to the Griffith Observatory that you can chose from ranging from 1 short mile to 7 miles. The views on a nice day are great.
Once you get to the top you can explore the observatory or go to one of the shows that plays on the hour. Mostly the shows are related to the solar systems and constellations. However, there is an marine/ocean show that plays a couple times a day.

Description: This is a fun photo op on a pit stop to a long drive. There is a small museum of mechanical dinosaurs and some large ones outside to take pictures with. I only recommend going if you are in the Palm Springs area.
